This lecture provides an overview of the recently published guidelines for thediagnosis and monitoring of canine cognitive dysfunction syndrome (CCDS),including the proposed diagnostic criteria and severity classification. Particularemphasis is placed on recognizing the characteristic DISHAA signs anddifferentiating CCDS from medical, neurological, sensory and behaviouralconditions that can present with similar changes. The lecture also discusses currenttreatment and management options.
